  • U18's Win West Region Development League

The Uddingston U18 Team has completed a very successful league campaign finishing with an unbeaten record to secure the league title.

U18 Coach and Midi Rugby Co-ordinator at Uddingston, Mike McKeown said, "Credit is due to this U18 Squad for their team spirit, effort and commitment, particularly during November when on consecutive Saturdays they comfortably beat local rivals Hamilton and then travelled the long road to Stranraer to secure a win against Wigtownshire.  A number of these U18s started out in Mini Rugby at Primary 2 and have come all the way through the flourishing youth rugby set up here at Uddingston Rugby Football Club. The U18s are a young team which is reflected in the fact that 50% of these guys will still be eligible to play U18 rugby next season".

Club President, Andy West added, "Congratulations are due to the U18s for this great team performance. Youth rugby is critical to the future of all clubs and we at Uddingston are extremely proud of all our youth rugby teams and very grateful for the hard work of our coaches and other volunteers. In addition to the U18s, Uddingston has Mini Rugby players from Primary 1 through to Primary 7 and also fields Midi teams at S1, S2, U15 and U16 age groups. I would encourage anyone interested in playing youth rugby to come along and give it a try here at Uddingston".
